The BRIEF 2 assessment for executive functioning is the newest edition to our assessment toolbox at Dynamic Solutions. This assessment is for kids between 5-18 years old. It evaluates various aspects of executive functioning, such as inhibition, shifting, emotional control, working memory, planning, organization, and monitoring skills. The assessment provides valuable insights into a child’s ability to manage tasks, regulate behavior, and problem-solve effectively. It is also amazing because it creates a list of goals, interventions, and accommodations, which is super helpful when writing a formal report. The Occupational Therapists at Dynamic Solutions are now trained and ready to include this gold standard of assessments to help parents, families, and children realize their areas of difficulty regarding executive functioning. Children with ADHD, ADD, and sensory processing disorder often struggle with executive functioning skills, which may impact academics, social skills, home life, and other activities of daily living.
